It is written in The Gita ( 4:1), that Krishna, in a previous
incarnation, had taught the imperishable yoga (Kriyayoga) to Surya, also known as Visvasat, who taught it to
Manu. Manu taught the science of yoga to Ikshavaku, the founder of the Sun
dynasty, who later passed the knowledge on to Rajarishi. At the onset of
the dark period or kaliyuga, the knowledge of this science became
lost. In the nineteenth century, this natural indestructible science of
humanity was revived by Mahavatar Babaji, who taught the science to Shyama
Charan Lahiri Mahasayaji. Babaji told Lahiri Mahasayaji, as is stated in the greatest spiritual classic- "An
Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa Yoganandaji, that the sacred science
(Kriyayoga) that he is giving to the world through Lahiri Mahasayaji, is a
revival of the same science that was given by Krishna to Arjuna. Sri
Lahiri Mahasayaji taught this science to Swami Sri Yukteshwarji, to whom
was sent a disciple, Paramhansa Yoganandaji, by Mahavatar Babaji.
Paramhansa Yoganandaji went to America in 1920 and spent 32 years in
America spreading the science to the many spiritual seekers there. He
established many centers worldwide, under the name of Self-Realization
Fellowship, to dispense his teachings. This
science was also made known to Jesus Christ, Maharshi Patanjali and some
greatly revered saints and sages.

At present, this same sacred teaching is being taught under the guidance of
Living Kriyayoga Master and Scientist-
Guruji Swami Shree Yogi Satyam at
Kriyayoga Research Institute, in Allahabad, India.
